Why do you get your Monday Morning Meeting newsletter on a Thursday?  Because it's been a very Manic Monday. And Tuesday. And Wednesday - and every single day of last week!

Season 2016/17 is just about to start and we are busy getting all the new chefs up to scratch! Not that they weren't, but we want to make sure that all guests across all chalets get the same level of quality and the style YSE likes to present. That's why YSE Ski and the YSE Cookery School spend up to four weeks training all chefs in all aspects of their role, so they will be absolutely comfortable with their position by the time guests arrive. And this isn't only about cooking and presenting their food - it's learning about the resort in general, about restaurants, about the ski area (which has over 300km of ski runs, so there is more than enough to learn about),  ski hire, ski schools and it also includes a few hours on quick fixes for vacuum cleaners, dishwashers and U-bends!

More than 60 staff are attending this year's training - you can easily imagine how hectic this time leading up to the opening week can be. 7am starts and up to 10pm finishes, depending which tasks you get assigned on the day. So yes - it's manic.

But it's also good fun to see a huge group of random strangers bonding more and more every day, and of course seeing all the creations the chefs prepare during the cookery course. So - let's not bore you any longer with what's happening in Val d'Isère while the slopes aren't even open yet, but let's show you some mouthwatering shots of the food you will get to taste if you were to come out for a skiing trip this season!
